ARED ‘Promising Designer Competition’ was held in South Campus

The ‘Promising Designer Competition’ of the Association of Outdoor and Industrial Advertisers (ARED), which was organized for the 10th time, was held in the South Campus in a 12-hour hackathon format.

The ‘Promising Designer Competition’ of the Association of Outdoor and Industrial Advertisers (ARED), which was organized for the 10th time this year in cooperation with Istanbul Medipol University and the Industrial Designers’ Society of Turkey (ETMK), was hosted by our School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture. The competition, organized by the Department of Industrial Product Design, was held in South Campus with a 12-hour design marathon in hackhaton format. Students from Istanbul Medipol University, Marmara University, Karabük University, and Bahçeşehir University participated in the competition.

AWARD CEREMONY ON 14 SEPTEMBER
Faculty Member of the Department of Industrial Product Design Dr. F. Ersin Alaca said that the aim of the competition is to reveal ideas on how the outdoor advertising industry and micro experiences will transform in the innovative cities of tomorrow. Noting that they asked the students to develop designs within the main theme of “Design of Outdoor Advertising Media and Micro Experiences in the City of Tomorrow”, Alaca added that there were representatives from the sector during the hackathon. Stating that all projects participating in the competition will be exhibited, Alaca said: “All projects will be exhibited at the FESPA Eurasia Fair, which ARED will organize at the IFM Istanbul Expo Center between 11 September and 14 September 2024. The top three projects and honorable mentions will be nominated for the FESPA Awards 2025 at the FESPA Global Expo 2025. The 10th ARED award ceremony for the Promising Designer of 2024 Award will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the FESPA Eurasia Fair.”
