The “Smart Insulin Kit” developed by Kaan Dursun, a 4th year student in the Department of Industrial Design at the School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture of Istanbul Medipol University, was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT). The utility model, developed under the supervision of Dr. Fahrettin Ersin Alaca, allows diabetic patients using the product to make correct applications by providing planned guidance according to their insulin level. The user-friendly kit includes insulin needles, a digital screen, a collapsible shelf system, and a medication cooling system. Speaking about the model, Dursun said: “Due to its structure, the invention can examine the diabetic patient and diagnose him or her according to the timeline. In this way, it benefits diabetic patients as it is directly related to raising patient awareness. Diabetic patients can administer the necessary insulin injection on their own, thanks to the vending machine in the product.”
