Patent from Assoc. Prof. Meral that will provide advantages to SMEs

Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences faculty member Assoc. Prof. Yurdagül Meral’s patent titled “Foreign Trade Document Preparation System” was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT). The patent in question is a project aimed at increasing exports by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The patent, which provides convenience in trade, especially for businesses that do not speak the language or cannot employ a foreign trade team that speaks the language, will help prepare documents in accordance with international trade rules with the support of foreign trade experts. Providing information about her patent, Meral said: “The preparation of documents in accordance with international trade rules will facilitate and accelerate the export transactions of SMEs. If the mandatory foreign trade documents are not prepared in line with international rules, there is a risk of delays in the collection of export payments or even the risk of not being collected at all. One of the most important reasons why businesses that are successful in local trade refrain from foreign trade is that they do not know international trade rules and foreign languages that require expertise. With the international patent, documents in accordance with international trade rules will be prepared with the support of foreign trade experts, and we will provide advantages to SMEs in particular.”
