Sustainable Development Goals

In 1987, the United Nations introduced the term "sustainable development" in its report "Our Common Future". This concept emphasizes sustainability, ensuring that future generations' needs are met while preserving nature. The UN General Assembly adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, which aim to help all people live in prosperity and peace while considering the needs of future generations and protecting the planet's environment. These goals are a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals and cover issues such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace, and justice. The goals are interrelated, and addressing common challenges is essential to achieving success. The SDGs are based on a spirit of partnership and pragmatism that seeks to improve life sustainably for future generations, offering guidance tailored to each country's priorities and environmental challenges. This comprehensive agenda aims to address the root causes of poverty and bring people together to make positive changes for the planet and its inhabitants.
