Medipol META TEKMER (Technology Development Center), established at Istanbul Medipol University Kavacık North Campus and supported by KOSGEB, plays an active role in cooperation with Medipol Technology Transfer Office to transfer the knowledge produced at the university to the industry. Medipol META TEKMER, which supports entrepreneurs operating in the field of technology and innovation, contributes to the development and commercialization of innovative projects while offering important collaboration opportunities. PROF. ARSLAN: WE WELCOME YOU TO MEDIPOL FOR A STRONG ECOSYSTEM
Prof. Hüseyin Arslan, Dean of the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University, who is the only inventor from Türkiye among 169 inventor academicians by the US National Academy of Inventors (NAI) with his innovative work in the field of wireless communication, is on the board of directors of META TEKMER. Prof. Arslan said that Medipol META TEKMER aims to conduct joint R&D and P&D activities with technology-based companies in areas, such as “Communication Technologies, 5G, 6G, Smart Connectivity, Communication Security”. Stating that many joint research activities are currently ongoing with the R&D infrastructure and academic experience of Istanbul Medipol University, Arslan added: “Within the framework of university-industry collaboration, many joint patents have been produced, and activities are ongoing for the commercialization of these patents. We welcome companies that want to be included in a strong ecosystem to META TEKMER.”

PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT!
Aiming to enrich the entrepreneurship ecosystem by mobilizing Türkiye’s potential in the field of technology, Medipol META TEKMER offers physical facilities, such as pre-incubation, incubation and post-incubation, open office for 45 people, workshops, common areas, laboratories, and meeting rooms to entrepreneurs with a closed area of 1000 m2. META TEKMER also offers training, consultancy, mentoring, and meeting with investors. The center contributes financially by bringing entrepreneurs together with funders through activities organized with investment networks and angel investors. In addition, the center provides advantages, such as “R&D Support, Stamp Duty, Income Tax Withholding Incentive, Customs Duty Exemption, and Insurance Premium Support (Employer’s Share)”. Medipol META TEKMER also offers “CNC, 3D Printer, 3D LCD Printer, VR Glasses, SLA Printer, Laser Scanner, Desktop Scanner, Bio Printer” laboratories where entrepreneurs can carry out prototype work. While the center has 14 closed offices for entrepreneurial companies in the incubation phase, “Business Model Creation, Project Writing and Management, Intellectual Property Rights Management, Financial Management, Entrepreneur Law, Marketing and Sales” trainings and mentoring are also provided.
