Istanbul Medipol University received the Blue Flag in the “2024 Socio-Cultural Activities Category” within the scope of the “Barrier-Free University Awards” given by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Organized to encourage barrier-free ecosystems in universities, the winners of the “2024 Barrier-Free University Awards” were announced by YÖK President Erol Özvar. Istanbul Medipol University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) received the Blue Flag in the “2024 Socio-Cultural Activities Category” within the scope of the “Barrier-Free University Awards”. A total of 1,709 applications were received from 112 universities, and 76 universities were awarded a total of 319 flags. The Barrier-Free University Awards are given in two different areas: “Barrier-Free University Flags” and “Barrier-Free Program Orders”. Barrier-Free University Flags are evaluated in three categories: “Accessibility in Space (orange flag)”, “Accessibility in Education (green flag)”, and “Accessibility in Socio-Cultural Activities (blue flag)”. The relevant programs of universities that make their programs accessible to various disabled groups are awarded the “Barrier-Free Program Order”.
